Alba Lorente Hernández's work is a passive cry of truth, which attests to a process of working with the material itself: in it there is not a gesture, but a trace. Her compositions testify to a radical nonconformity, in which the artist tries to deny what we know to be true not in the motives, but in the starting point, the form.
Observation, sensitivity towards the different media and their careful choice make the creation process intervened by the baggage of the avant-gardes of the last century (especially by the Manifesto of destructive art by Kenneth Kemble), but also by nature. of the object to transform. Through action on the different materials that he uses, Lorente breaks something that was being. Ultimately, it breaks the very nature of the verb to be, in an act as impulsive as it is patient in which observation and abduction coexist and alternate.
Delving into the idea of presence through absence, his choice of black as the dominant color is a faithful reflection of the security of that rejection of what is already known, and of a deep pictorial ambition.
"Although it is night, here the creatures are being called", and the call is in the lines, in the spots, in the cuts, the folds, the wrinkles, and the perforations. The work calls the viewer and encourages him to accept the contradictions, and to live.
It is as if to the question “what are you afraid of?”, Alba Lorente Hernández's work answered “yesterday”, and flees forward in search of an authentic, new and personal vision of Art.

Gabi Gallego
Barcelona, 1988
Doctora en Bellas Artes por la Universitat Politècnica de Valencia (2019). Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universitat de Barcelona (2006/11). En 2008 recibe la beca Erasmus en School of Creative Arts, UWE, (U.K). En 2012/13 cursa el Máster oficial en Producción Artística (UPV). En 2011 le conceden la Beca de Paisaje de la Real Academia de Historia y Arte de San Quirce (Segovia) y la Beca de Pintura de la Fundación Privada Güell de la Reial Academia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi. En 2012/13 becada por la Fundación Antonio Gala para Jóvenes Creadores, en Córdoba. En 2014 le invitan a participar en el Encuentro Memoria Joven en el Centro Cultural CajaGRANADA.
A lo largo de sus años de carrera artística ha participado en diversas ferias de arte contemporáneo, tales como la Feria de Arte Contemporáneo Estampa en Madrid con la Galería Jorge Alcolea (2021), Another Fair con la Galería tres por cuatro (2020) y en la Feria MARTE en Castellón con el Stand de MAKMA (2018).
Ha sido galardonada en varios certámenes, entre los que destacan: la Mención de Honor en el Premio Fundación Mainel (2021), el Accésit en el Premio Ibercaja de Pintura Joven (2019) y el Primer Premio de Pintura de la Fundación Güell (2011). Asimismo, sus trabajos han sido seleccionados en numerosos concursos de reconocido prestigio a nivel nacional e internacional, entre los que destacan: XIX Premio de Pintura Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos (2018), VIII Certamen de Pintura “Laura Otero” (2017), 7º y 6º Premi Bienal de Pintura Torres García-Ciutat de Mataró, Premio Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia (2017, 2013), 76 Exposición Internacional de Artes Plásticas de Valdepeñas (2015), Concurso Internacional de Arte José Camarón (2015, 2014) y XVII Certamen Internacional de Pintura “Ciudad de Alcázar” (2013).
Su obra ha sido expuesta en múltiples colectivas como las realizadas en la Galería Jorge Alcolea en Madrid y en Barcelona (2022,2021, 2020), en el Museo Ibercaja Camón Aznar (Zaragoza, 2013), en la Fundación Iluro (Mataró, 2017, 2015), Palacio Obispo Solís (Cáceres, 2017), Centro Cultural “La Confianza” (Valdepeñas, 2015), Ateneo Mercantil (Valencia, 2013), Fundación Antonio Gala (Córdoba, 2013), Reial Cercle Artístic (Barcelona, 2012, 2011), Palacio del Quintanar (Segovia, 2011) y Museu de Sant Cugat (Sant Cugat, 2011). También, ha realizado varias exposiciones individuales en Madrid y en Barcelona: “Tiempo y espacio” en la Galería tres por cuatro (Madrid, 2019) y “Hacia una anarquitectura” en el Centre Cívic Sarria (Barcelona, 2018).
Su obra se encuentra en distintas colecciones de arte privadas e institucionales, entre éstas, las de la Universidad de Barcelona, Fundació Güell y Fundación Antonio Gala.
Actualmente reside en Valencia donde desarrolla su carrera artística.
